Edwina Drake and her mother Mrs. Eula Drake
This mother and daughter believe in celebrating their lives each day by the choices they make.
Living a healthy lifestyle is a choice…and one many people ignore until they get a wake-up call that something is very wrong with their health!
Mrs. Eula Drake was born and raised in Wharton, Texas. She's the 4th oldest of 10 children. She moved to Dallas in 1924 and was married in 1925.
Good Street Baptist Church is where she is an active member. Active is her middle name…take action is what she does every time she goes for her regular checkups. She said, "I go to the doctor, because they help you get better when you are sick." Mrs. Eula Drake has never...never been sick!
Once, her daughter Edwina Drake hospitalized her to get a full set of tests just to make sure everything was okay with her. Regular visits to her doctor allow her to keep in touch with him and be sure everything is in good working order. She said, "I am always glad to be up and not down!" Mrs. Drake was nick named "Road Lizard", because she stayed gone from home all the time. She said, "Not many people my age are up and going around town."
Edwina, also has never been sick and is the 2nd oldest of 5 children. She is proud to be an alumni of Booker T. Washington High School.
Lesson learned: “Celebrate your life and make sure you have regular checkups...it is a choice...make the right one!”
